The answers your security team will ask for before installation
NASLORD™ is an appliance that connects to your storage systems. You are right to ask questions before deploying it — here are the answers, plainly.
What NASLORD collects — and what it never collects
Collected, per platform
Never collected
- The content of your files, objects or backups — NASLORD reads metadata only
- No telemetry, no usage statistics, no incident reports sent to Gallium
- No outbound Internet connection required for the product to operate
Encryption, access and traceability
Credentials and encryption
Dell system credentials are encrypted at rest in the appliance’s local database. All communication — to the Dell APIs and to browsers — is over HTTPS.
Roles and authentication
Role-based access control, with privileges assigned per module, cluster, access zone or MTree. LDAP / Active Directory integration, local accounts and TOTP two-factor authentication.
Audit logging
Every action is recorded with the user, the scope and the timestamp. Logs are browsable per cluster and per zone, and export to PDF, XML and JSON.
Connectivity and ports
NASLORD installs no agents on your systems. All connections are initiated by the appliance, outbound, to the Dell platform APIs.
| Flow | Protocol / port | Direction |
|---|---|---|
| NASLORD web interface | HTTPS 443 | Inbound (browsers) |
| PowerScale API (OneFS) | HTTPS 8080 | Outbound |
| ObjectScale API | HTTPS 443 / 4443 | Outbound |
| PowerProtect DD API | HTTPS 3009 / SSH 22 | Outbound |
| LDAP / Active Directory | LDAPS 636 (or LDAP 389) | Outbound |
| Email (alerts, reports) | SMTP — port per your relay | Outbound |
